Who's on First?
I am talking about the fulfilled woman, and I want to tell you that fulfilment does not come from pleasing our husbands! It does not come from having the best behaved kids on the block. It does not come from keeping an immaculate house, being a gourmet cook, or the best-dressed or most well-read woman in our crowd.
There is only one way genuine fulfilment comes. Fulfilment comes from doing what God wants us to do...from following His plans for our lives
God didn't intend for us to find satisfaction apart from Himself. In the "four spiritual laws" (put out by Campus Crusade for Christ) the first "law is", "God loves you, and has a wonderful plan for your life." Unless we're following God's plan, nothing we do is going to be fulfilling on a permanent basis.
We find God's plan only through Jesus Christ. So, the first and most important prerequisite to being a fulfilled woman is to be a "born-again" Christian. We must invite Christ into our heart and ask Him to take over our life, our marriage, our husband, our children, our material possessions...everything we have on just earth. If we put Jesus first, He will give us His abundant life.
This whole venture of being a fulfilled woman depends on our faith in God and obedience to His word. We must rely on Christ to help us, allow Him to change us inside and make us willing to follow these concepts(because they are not natural reaction).
Scripture gives us insight into the high divorce rate and unhappy marriages of today. Psalm 127:1 says "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who builds it."...people aren't allowing the Lord to build their homes, and so their labour is in vain
